The autumnal equinox - the last day of summer. It came as a relief after recent bad weather that the night was clear and dry.
We set up in darkness at 4am in a wooded glade, next to an ancient, hollowed oak tree, and right by the source of the River Fleet.
Crows and blackbirds joined us at dawn. When we finished playing, we found our audience either lying flat on their backs watching the brightening sky, or perched up the trees. Everyone helped us carry our kit back to the cars through the dew.
