We hadn't seen inside before we came for the performance, which made planning a bit interesting. The submarine was almost a hybrid of the previous two locations - the strenuous claustrophobia of the Mine and the impenetrable pipes and dials of Pyestock. We played in the fore torpedo room, having set up microphones and speakers around the submarine - down the corridor past the crew's quarters, on the deck and in the water outside the hull.
John had been pumping out the leaking ballast tank before we arrived, but by the time we'd finished playing the sub was listing heavily over again, almost alarmingly. Nick dived around the submarine afterwards to try and find the leak, without success. Army divers are trying next. She will rise again!
